To have a much more meaningful observance of the Holy Week, all officials and employees of the government, including government-owned and/or controlled corporations, may take the afternoon off starting at 12:01 p.m. on Holy Wednesday, March 26, 1997.1âшphi1

It is understood, however, that the heads of offices shall provide a skeletal force to man their respective offices during the period.
