AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE NATIONAL SCHOOL ENROLMENT140 DAY ON JANUARY 29, 1996
The National School Enrolment Day (NSED), which is held on the last Monday of January every year, as provided for under DECS Order No. 65, s. 1994, is basically intended to provide DECS with a reliable basis in planning the number and assignment of teachers, classrooms, textbooks and other school equipment and facilities for every school opening.1aшphi1
To ensure greater success in the implementation of this program, all officials and employees in both the national and local governments, as well as in government owned and/or controlled corporations and government financial institutions, who intend to enrol their children (at least 6 years old by June 3, 1996) in Grade I in any public school in the country, are hereby authorized to participate in the NSED on January 29, 1996, and shall not be considered absent from office, provided they submit to their office heads a certification of such participation issued by the school officials concerned. Heads of government offices, however, should take necessary measures to ensure non-disruption of the normal work flow.1aшphi1
