ADVISING GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND PARTIES-LITIGANTS OF THE NEED TO RECONSTITUTE CASE RECORDS DESTROYED BY THE FIRE THAT GUTTED THE THIRD AND FOURTH FLOORS OF THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT, MALACAŅANG, MANILA ON AUGUST 10, 1995

Government agencies and parties-litigants are hereby advised that the fire on August 10, 1995 which gutted the third and fourth floors of the Administration Building, Office of the President, Malacaņang, Manila, destroyed the records of many cases pending in the OP Legal Office.1aшphi1

To enable this Office to identify which records of pending cases have been destroyed/damaged, I hereby direct:

a) government agencies to submit lists of their cases appealed to and which are still pending in the Office of the President, and

b) parties-litigants to file separate motions to reconstitute records and/or motions to resolve cases within sixty (60) days from the last publication hereof.

After identification of the destroyed/damaged records, government agencies and parties-litigants shall be advised to submit copies of their relevant documents which shall become the reconstituted records of the pending cases.

Let this Memorandum Circular be published in five (5) newspapers of general circulation once a week for three (3) consecutive weeks.
