AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF SOLICITOR GENERAL TO PRESENT AND PROSECUTE CLAIMS OF THE GOVERNMENT, INCLUDING ITS DEPARTMENTS, AGENCIES, AS WELL AS GOVERNMENT-OWNED AND CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS, AGAINST THE REPUBLIC OF IRAQ ARISING FROM THE GULF WAR, AND DIRECTING ALL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES, INCLUDING GOVERNMENT-OWNED OR CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS TO RENDER ASSISTANCE ON THE MATTER

The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) is hereby authorized to present and prosecute before the United Nations Compensation Committee in behalf of the Republic of the Philippines a consolidated reparations claim for losses and damages sustained by it and its agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations, against the Republic of Iraq during the 1990 Gulf War.

To enable the OSG to perform its task effectively and efficiently, all agencies and instrumentalities of the Government, including government-owned or controlled corporations, are hereby directed to inform the OSG, on or before 20 June 1994, of whatever claims they may have against the Republic of Iraq arising from the 1990 Gulf War, to collate all documentary and other evidence supportive of said claims, and to extend assistance to the OSG in the successful prosecution thereof.
