REITERATING THE DIRECTIVE TO PUT AN END TO THE UNAUTHORIZED USE OF THE NAME, SIGNATURE, PICTURE OR OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE FIRST FAMILY TO GAIN FAVOR OR ADVANTAGE IN GOVERNMENT OR FOR OTHER ILLEGAL PURPOSES
This is to reiterate the President’s condemnation of and desire to put an end to the illicit activities of unscrupulous persons, influence peddlers, extortionists, fakes, impostors and poseurs who use the President’s name, signature, picture or office, as well as the name, signature or picture of the First Lady and other members of the First Family, to gain favor or advantage in Government or carry out various illegal purposes.
Accordingly, the President reiterates his directive enjoining all public officers and employees, as well as the general public, to earnestly assist in all efforts at effectively discouraging or completely eradicating said reprehensible activities which undermine the First Family’s good name and Government’s effectiveness and integrity, among others, by immediately reporting the activities of such unscrupulous persons, influence peddlers, extortionists, fakes, impostors and poseurs to the heads of the department, agency or government-owned or controlled corporation concerned, or directly to the Office of the President at telephone no. 712-5421.1aшphi1
All concerned government departments and agencies are enjoined to comply with the notice to the public and periodic reports required under Memorandum Circular No. 51, dated 25 May 1993.
