ADVISING OF THE PRESIDENT’S MEMORANDUM ON IMPOSTORS AND POSEURS AND DIRECTING THE ADOPTION OF APPROPRIATE PREVENTIVE AND PUNITIVE MEASURES
All departments, agencies, offices, government-owned and controlled corporations, and local government units are hereby advised that the President has issued a Memorandum dated 20 May 1993 warning the general public against unscrupulous persons, influence peddlers, extortionists, impostors and poseurs engaged in peddling influence or attempting extortion by using his name, signature, picture or office as a means to gain favor or advantage or to carry out various illegal purposes.1aшphi1
Accordingly, all concerned are hereby directed to adopt such preventive and punitive measures as may be proper and necessary to discourage said reprehensible practices.
This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
DONE in the City of Manila, on this 21st day of May, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Three.
