MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Memorandum Circular No. 985, May 27, 1977 ] REQUIRING ALL PROVINCIAL GOVERNORS, MUNICIPAL MAYORS AND BARANGAY CAPTAINS TO MAINTAIN PLANT NURSERIES WITHIN THEIR RESPECTIVE LOCALITIES. In order to replace destroyed trees by natural calamities and indiscriminate logging, all provincial governors, municipal mayors and barangay captains are hereby directed to maintain plant nurseries in their respective provinces, cities, municipalities and barangays to assure an adequate and continuous supply of trees and other plants that may be needed in the present reforestation efforts and other government programs that require plant seedlings. The Department of Local Government and Community Development and the Department of Natural Resources, through the Bureau of Forest Development, shall extend technical assistance to the local governments concerned in order to carry-out this directive.1aшphi1 By order of the President: (Sgd.)
