REQUIRING CERTIFICATE OF URGENCY PROPOSALS FOR TRIPS ABROAD OF GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES

In line with the current retrenchment policy of government and to further pursue our efforts at dollar conservation, it is hereby proscribed as a of policy that henceforth all proposals for trips abroad of government officials and employees, including those which are expense-free shall be accompanied by a certificate of urgency of the trip to be signed by department heads and chiefs of offices. It is also directed that any invitation for the sending abroad of all government officials and employees shall first be forwarded to this Office for determination whether or not the invitation may be accepted, in order to avoid international commitment involving travels of government officials employees not certified as urgent.

Strict compliance herewith by all heads of departments and chiefs of offices of the government is enjoined.1aшphi1
