AUTHORIZING THE ATTENDANCE IN THE 1975 SEMINAR-WORKSHOP ON INDEXING AND ABSTRACTING ON OCTOBER 16-18, 1975, SPONSORED BY THE ASSOCIATION OF SPECIAL LIBRARIES OF THE PHILIPPINES (ASLP).

The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines (ASLP) established in 1954 and composed of librarians working in various libraries in the country, particularly in business, industry, trade, science and technology, the humanities and social sciences, etc. is sponsoring a seminar-workshop on indexing and abstracting on October 16-18, 1975 at the University of the East Auditorium. This activity is in line with the objectives of the Association in improving library services and promoting and stimulating professional growth among its members through its annual conferences and seminars.

The seminar-workshop is designed to upgrade library services in the field of indexing and abstracting, two activities important to libraries in making its library resources accessible to its users. The seminar-workshop will also deal on the techniques of indexing in the information science field.

In view of the relevance and significance of the seminar-workshop in the upgrading of library services and in the advancement of professional knowledge of librarians, all heads of departments, bureaus, offices, both national and local, including government-owned or controlled corporations, are hereby authorized to send not more than three (3) of their librarians who are members and/or affiliated with ASLP to attend said Seminar-workshop on official time with reasonable expenses for transportation, subsistence, lodging, and seminar fee, chargeable against the funds of their respective agencies, subject to the availability thereof and the usual accounting and auditing requirements.1aшphi1

The participants shall submit to their respective agency heads a report on their attendance in the seminar-workshop within thirty (30) days after the termination thereof.
