AUTHORIZING THE SENDING OF DELEGATES TO THE PHILIPPINE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF “CIVIL ENGINEERING IN DISASTER PREVENTION AND CONTROL.”
The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) will host the first International Conference in civil engineering at San Juan City from May 20 to 24, 1975. “Civil Engineering in Disaster Prevention and Control will be the conference theme.
The conference will feature the presentation of scientific papers by experts from various countries as well as from the members of other technological and scientific organization in the Philippines. Ways and means by which civil engineering can be of help to prevent and/or control disaster and calamities due to earthquakes, typhoons and floods, which are common occurrences in the Philippines will be discussed.
In view hereof, all heads of departments, bureaus, offices, including the various regional offices, as well as government-owned or controlled corporation and local governments, are hereby authorized to send not more than two (2) of their civil engineers to participate in this conference. PICE conference officials may be exempted from this limitation. Participants from government agencies shall be allowed to attend on official time, as well as reasonable expenses for transportation, subsistence, lodging and conference fees; provided that participants who are stationed in the Metropolitan Manila shall be entitled to transportation and conference fees only, all chargeable against the appropriation of their respective offices, subject to the availability of funds and the usual accounting and auditing requirements.
The delegates shall submit to their agency heads a report of attendance and participation within 30 days following the closing of the conference.1aшphi1
