MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Memorandum Circular No. 658, August 23, 1973 ] REQUIRING THE WEARING OF UNIFORMS BY LADY EMPLOYEES IN THE SERVICE OF THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT. All lady employees in the service of the National Government are hereby required to be in uniform during their attendance in office whether during regular office hours or on overtime service.⚖ - ℒαɯρhi৷ The use of the uniforms will enhance the department and outlook of our lady employees in the government, particularly taking pride in being in the government service and manifesting qualities of distinctiveness, discipline and efficiency. The uniforms to be prescribed under this Circular shall be made out of locally produced materials in order to help create a market therefor as well as generate employment for our countrymen. All concerned, male or female employees of the government are likewise required to patronize locally produced footwear to attain the desired objectives referred to above. Exempted from the provisions of this Circular are lady doctors and nurses in government hospitals. They, including male physicians, shall wear the traditionally known nurses’ and doctors’ attire in white at all times when on duty. All heads of departments, bureaus and offices of the government, including government-owned or controlled corporations, are hereby urged to see to it that the provisions of this Circular are implemented beginning September 16, 1973.
