ENJOINING ALL NATIONAL AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICES, AGENCIES AND INSTRUMENTALITIES TO LEND ASSISTANCE TO, COOPERATE WITH, AND SUPPORT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE COMMISSION ON POPULATION REGIONAL OFFICES.
Presidential Decree No. 79 dated December 8, 1972, revising Republic Act No. 6365, confers on the Commission on Population the mandate of implementing the objectives of the national program on parenthood and family planning.
Pursuant to this mandate and in order to achieve a more effective administration of the overall family planning program, the Commission on Population has established eleven (11) regional offices throughout the country in accordance with the field service area pattern set forth under the Integrated Reorganization Plan, which are now operational. These regional offices will coordinate the various on-going projects of public as well as private agencies on a regional level, oversee the implementation of policies, plans and programs relating to family planning as well as monitor pertinent data on the activities of the different implementing agencies in conjunction with program development on a national scale.1aшphi1
In order to enable the Population Commission to effectively carry out the population program, it being an integral and vital part of social reform and economic development, all heads of departments, chiefs of bureaus and offices, including government-owned or controlled corporations and local subdivisions, are hereby enjoined to lend assistance to, cooperate with, and support the activities of the Commission on Population Regional Offices in their respective localities and/or jurisdiction in natters involving population and family planning.
