MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Memorandum Circular No. 597, September 15, 1972 ] ENJOINING ALL PROVINCIAL GOVERNORS AND CITY MAYORS TO SPEARHEAD THE CELEBRATION OF THE CONSUMERS PROTECTION WEEK. In order to effectively carry out the objectives of Proclamation No. 822 dated March 1, 1971, declaring the last week of October of every year as the Consumers Protection Week, all Provincial Governors and City Mayors are hereby enjoined to spearhead the celebration of the Consumers Protection Week, enlisting the support of the local women’s club, the local representatives of the Department of Commerce and Industry and other public and private agencies. This celebration shall be consistent with the existence of a state of public calamity in most parts of the country.1âшphi1 By authority of the President: (SGD.)
