EXCUSING FROM OFFICE GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL IN THE GREATER MANILA AREA ON CERTAIN DATES DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.

The announcement issued by this Office and disseminated through the radio, television, and by telephone, excusing from work officials and employees of government offices within the Greater Manila Area except those engaged in relief, rehabilitation and rescue operations, as well as communications and public utility services and the necessary personnel of the Weather Bureau, due to inclement weather, due to inclement weather characterized by continuous rains and floods which paralyzed transportation services and made travel therein hazardous during the following dates, is hereby confirmed:

July 17, 1972, from 4:00 o’clock p.m.

July 18, 1972, from 1:00 o’clock p.m.

July 19 to 21, 1972; July 31, 1972; and

August 1-2, 1972.

It is hereby provided that daily-wage and emergency or causal employees outside the above-mentioned exceptions shall suffer reduction in pay for their failure to report for duty from July 19 to 21; July 31, 1972; and on August 1-2, 1972.1âшphi1

Undertime incurred by government officials and employees in the Greater area from July 24 to 28, and from August 3, to 11, 1972, shall not be deducted from their leave credits. This is in line with the announcements made by this Office on August 3, 1972, that the liberal enforcement of office hours is left to the discretion of the Department Heads and that such discretion may be exercised bearing in mind the conditions of roads, lack of transportation, prevailing weather conditions and employees’ welare.
