[ Memorandum Circular No. 527, January 4, 1972 ]

AUTHORIZING THE NATIONAL ELECTRIFICATION ADMINISTRATION (NEA) TO CONDUCT TRAINING ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY GEARED TOWARDS DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION CONCERNING RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROGRAM.

Pursuant to the provisions of R.A. No. 6038, the NEA is directed to promote, encourage and assist public service entities, particularly cooperatives, to the end of achieving the objectives of making service available throughout the nation on an area coverage basis.

In order to make such assistance truly effective, the NEA is hereby authorized to conduct a series of training activities geared towards total information concerning the rural electrification program and making electric cooperatives operationally viable, not only on national level, but down to provincial and municipal levels as well.

In view of the foregoing, the NEA is hereby authorized to disburse funds for meal and transportation expenses of participants in the NEA sponsored training activities, subject to the availability of funds and the usual accounting and auditing requirements.1âшphi1
