[ Memorandum Circular No. 446, March 25, 1971 ]

DESIGNATION OF THE PHILIPPINE ELECTRONIC AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS FEDERATION, INC., (PETEF) TO HOST THE SIXTH ASIA ELECTRONICS CONFERENCE AND THE SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF ASIA ELECTRONICS UNION (AEU) ON DECEMBER 1-7, 1971.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Electronics and Telecommunications Federation (PETEF), as the national confederation of the different associations dealing in electronics and telecommunications has always been the host organization in the celebration of Electronics and Telecommunications Week every first week of December as authorized under Proclamation No. 382 dated September 25, 1969;

WHEREAS, the PETEF, representing the Philippines, is the regular member of the AEU with head office in Tokyo, Japan;

WHEREAS, in the 5th Asian Electronics Conference and the First General Assembly of AEU held in Taipei, Taiwan, on November 24-29, 1969, unanimously approved to hold the 6th Asia Electronics Conference, the Second General Assembly of AEU, in 1971 in Manila;

WHEREFORE, the PETEF is hereby designated to host the 6th Asia Electronics Conference and the Second General Assembly of AEU, 1971, coincident with the 4th Annual Celebration of Electronics and Telecommunications Week on December 1-7, 1971. The Department of Public Works and Communications and the National Science Development Board shall assist in the management of the conference and shall provide a secretariat therefor. The PETEF may call upon any department, bureau or office, including government-owned or controlled corporation for such assistance it may need in ensuring the success of the conference.

This Circular takes effect immediately.
