URGING NOMINATION OF PARTICIPANTS FOR THE TRAINING PROGRAM IN DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS AT THE SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS, UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES.

WHEREAS, it has been a declared national policy to strengthen and improve the economic planning staffs of key government agencies at the national, provincial and local levels, including regional planning authorities and government-owned or controlled corporations;

WHEREAS, to implement the above policy, there is need for graduate training for economists, economic technicians, and administrators in government service;

WHEREAS, in recognition of this urgent need, among others, the School of Economics, University of the Philippines, conducts training programs in development economics, and undertake economic research; and

WHEREAS; this Office recognizes that the School of Economics can provide the much needed education and training for economists, economic technicians, and administrators capable of formulating and implementing policies and plans and administering development projects in all sectors of the economy;

WHEREFORE, all departments, agencies and subdivisions of the Government, including regional planning authorities and government-owned or controlled corporations are hereby urged to sponsor officials and employees with suitable basic qualifications to participate in training programs at the School Economics. The participants shall be on official time for the duration of the training and shall be entitled to transportation and meal allowances chargeable against the funds of the offices concerned subject the availability thereof and usual audit.

The participants shall submit to their respective agency heads monthly report on their attendance and participation in the training program.1âшphi1
