[ Memorandum Circular No. 401, October 20, 1970 ]

EXCUSING GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL, EXCEPT THOSE ENGAGED IN RELIEF AND RESCUE OPERATIONS, ON OCTOBER 14, 1970.

In view of the heavy damage caused by typhoons “Sening” in Bicol Region, the Samar Province, Southern Luzon and Central Luzon, including Greater Manila Area, which disrupted transportation and other public utilities, government officials and employees holding offices in the said areas, except those engaged in relief and rescue operations, like the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Social Welfare Administration, the Department of Health and Department of Public Works and Communications, as well as necessary personnel of the Weather Bureau, are excused from office on October 14, 1970.

It is hereby provided that daily paid and emergency casual employees outside the exceptions shall not suffer a reduction in pay for their failure to report for duty on the said date.1âшphi1
