ENLISTING THE SUPPORT AND COOPERATION OF ALL OFFICES CONCERNED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SURVEY OF UNIT RECORD AND ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING INSTALLATIONS IN THE GOVERNMENT BEING UNDERTAKEN BY THE COMMISSION ON REORGANIZATION

Republic Act No. 5435, otherwise known as the Reorganization Law of 1968, has authorized “the President of the Philippine, with the help of a Commission on Reorganization, to reorganize the different executive departments, bureaus, offices, agencies and instrumentalities of the government, including banking or financial institutions and corporations owned or controlled by it.”

One of the areas being studied by the Commission is mechanization and automation of work process in the government, including government-owned and controlled corporations. The study will include a survey of current practices and EDP equipment, their utilization, applications and other related matters.1âшphi1

Results of the study will guide the Commission in formulating recommendations on policies affecting the acquisition of computers and establishment of EDP centers.

All heads of Departments, Bureaus, Offices and Agencies, including Government-owned and Controlled Corporations concerning are hereby urged to extend their full support and cooperation to the Commission on Reorganization by designing a counterpart representative from the Unit Record EDP staff to act as liaison with the Commission on Reorganization, to answer the attached questionnaire which should be submitted to the Commission not later than July 15, 1970.
