URGING ATTENDANCE IN THE SEMINAR-WORKSHOP ON THE PREPARATION AND PRODUCTION OF READING AND FOLLOW-UP MATERIALS

The Unesco National Commission of the Philippines, will hold a seminar-workshop on July 21 – August 9, 1969 at the Philippine Land Reform Center for Continuing Education, Valenzuela, Bulacan.

The objectives of the seminar-workshop are:

1. To gain a deeper insight into the work-oriented functional literacy program in the rural area.

2. To appreciate the need for determining specific objectives and target readership of specific reading materials and to develop skill in identifying them.

3. To develop the skills of conducting a socio-economic survey as bases for determining the contest of the reading materials.

4. To provide writers with work-experienced in preparing and producing work-oriented reading and follow-up materials.

5. To study and apply the different techniques of writing reading materials.

All heads of government agencies and instrumentalities concerned with the dissemination of informational materials are hereby authorized each to send not more than three (3) participants to the seminar-workshop on official business, that is, on official time and with expenses for transportation, subsistence, lodging and seminar fees, chargeable against the appropriations of their respective offices, subject to the availability of funds and the usual accounting and auditing requirements.

The participants shall submit to their respective agency heads a report on their attendance in the seminar-workshop.1âшphi1
