[ Memorandum Circular No. 165, March 12, 1968 ]

PROVIDING FOR THE OBSERVANCE OF MAGSAYSAY MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAMS IN SCHOOLS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICES WHENEVER MARCH 17 FALLS ON A SATURDAY OR SUNDAY.

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 15 dated March 17, 1966, declared March 17th of every year as “Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Day”;

WHEREAS, said proclamation enjoins all public schools and government offices throughout the country to hold a briar program not to exceed 30 minutes, the main features of which are the reading of the Ramon Magsaysay Credo and a one minute silent prayer; and

WHEREAS, the provision cannot be cannot implemented whenever March 17 falls on a Saturday or Sunday;

WHEREFORE, all public schools and government offices are hereby enjoined to hold programs in honor of Ramon Magsaysay on the school or business day immediately preceding March 17, whenever March 17 falls on a Saturday or Sunday.
