URGING ATTENDANCE IN DAILY PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES DURING CIVIL SERVICE WEEK.

Under Proclamation No. 285 dated August 15, 1964, the period from September 13 to 19 every year has been declared as Civil Service Week. The celebration is aimed at focusing public attention on the significant role of the Civil Service in national development and winning for it the Support of the citizenry.

As overall coordinator of the celebration, the Civil Service Commission, in cooperation with government employee organizations, has planned a series of programs and activities which is expected to generate public support of its nationwide drive for a stronger, more efficient, progressive and courteous public service. All the activities are geared to the theme: “A Dynamic Civil Service in A Developing Economy.”

All heads of departments and chiefs of bureaus and offices, including government-owned or controlled corporations, are hereby authorized to send the daily programs during the Week at the GSIS Social Hall at two o’clock in the afternoon not more than five (5) of their ranking officials most concerned with the topic of the day and at least 10% of the total personnel complement during the Civil Service Assembly on September 19. Their attendance shall be on official time.1âшphi1
