URGING ATTENDANCE IN THE CIVIL SERVICE ASSEMBLY AND OTHER ACTIVITIES COMMEMORATING CIVIL SERVICE WEEK.

The period from September 13 to 19 of every year has been declared as Civil Service Week under Proclamation No. 285 dated August 11, 1964. As coordinator of the celebration, the Civil Service Co mission has drawn up for this year’s observance, a series of program; and activities which will help project the Philippine civil service’s role the area of national development.

On September 19, the 66th anniversary of the Philippine civil service, Civil Service Assembly will be held at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Manila, as one of the Week’s highlights.

The Assembly is intended to enrich the knowledge of the government officialdom on the latest policies and current practices on the public person management as viewed from the standpoint of the executive, the legislative, and the judicial branches of government. A symposium-forum during occasion will enable the participants to acquire as well as exchange useful information for a more through and effective understanding of our civil service system.1âшphi1

In this connection, all heads of departments and chiefs of bureaus and offices, including government-owned or controlled corporations are hereby urged to send to the Civil Service Assembly a delegation of governments employees the size of which must be determined on the basis of one for every fifty employees. Their attendance in the Assembly shall be on official time.

All offices and agencies all over the country are also requested to sponsor individual office programs on September 13, the opening day, in observance of the Week.
