[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 504, January 31, 1992 ]

AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 338 DATED 30 SEPTEMBER 1988 CREATING THE ENERGY COORDINATING COUNCIL

WHEREAS, Section 2 of Executive Order No. 338 dated 30 September 1988 designates the Executive Secretary, Office of the President, as the Chairman of the Energy Coordinating Council;

WHEREAS, in view of the multifarious functions, and responsibilities of the Executive Secretary and due to the urgent need for the enhanced coordinating efforts of the Energy Coordinating Council in addressing the policies, plans and projects in the energy sector, there exists the need to designate a regular full-time energy coordinator as Chairman thereof; and

WHEREAS, a regular full-time coordinator would be able to oversee the activities of all the agencies and organizations in the energy sector, strengthen the said Council and more effectively achieve the purposes for which the Council has been created.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. Section 2 of Executive Order No. 338 dated 30 September 1988 is hereby amended to read, as follows:

"SEC. 2. Composition of the Council. - The Council shall be composed of the Presidential Assistant for Energy Affairs as Chairman and the following as members:

1. Executive Director, Office of Energy Affairs;

2. President, Philippine National Oil Company;

3. President, National Power Corporation; and

4. Administrator. National Electrification Administration.

Section 2. All other provisions of Executive Order No. 338 shall remain in force and in effect.

Section 3. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 31st day of January in the year of Our Lord nineteen hundred and ninety-two.
