[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 61, February 21, 1967 ]
AUTHORIZING THE NATIONAL SHRINES COMMISSION TO ISSUE HONORIFIC TITLES OVER PORTIONS OF BATAAN, CORREGIDOR AND OTHER NATIONAL SHRINES.
WHEREAS, the National Shrines Commission is charged with the rehabilitation and conservation of battlefield areas throughout the Philippines and the construction of fitting monuments thereon to honor the bravemen who fought and died to make this nation free; and
WHEREAS, those shrines will be constructed mostly from voluntary contributions of civic-spirited citizens here and abroad;
WHEREAS, it is fitting that generous donors be given due recognition for their contribution;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the National Shrines Commission to issue honorific titles over undesignated portions Bataan, Corregidor and other national shrines as a token of appreciation to donors and sponsors, under such rules and regulations as the Commission may prescribe.
Done in the City of Manila, this 21st day of February, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-seven.
