AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 134 OR DEC. 17, 1964, ENTITLED “CREATING THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL VOLUNTEER SERVICE COMMITTEE”
By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby reorganize the Philippine National Volunteer Service Committee as follows:
The Philippine National Volunteer Service Committee shall be composed of a Chairman and an Executive Secretary from the Office of the Presidential Arm on Community Development and a representative each from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Labor, the Department of Health, the Department of Education, the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Department of Public Works and Communications, the Department of National Defense, the National Economic Council and the Social Welfare Administration to be designated by the respective office heads; and a representative each from the Philippine Rural Reconstruction movement. Operation Brotherhood International, Medical Aid for Rural Indigent Areas, Work-a-Year, and School Volunteer Programs Philippines, and such other organizations that may be admitted upon the recommendation and approval of the Committee.
The Chairman is hereby authorized to organize a Secretariat and the International Secretariat for Volunteer Service Asian Regional Office in Manila and supervise its maintenance for the initial year. The Secretary of Community Development is hereby empowered to call upon any officer or employee of any department, bureau or agency of the Government for such assistance as may be needed by the Committee for the proper discharge of its functions.
