CREATING THE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby create the Development Council which shall be composed of the Secretaries of Departments and heads of government offices, agencies and entities having to do with economic, social and political development on the national or local level.

The Council shall study, discuss, establish and implement economic, social and political development priorities. It shall meet regularly at the Operations Room of the President at the end of every month and/or upon the call of the President, through the Executive Secretary.

The National Economic Council shall serve as Secretariat and it shall be assisted by the Presidential Economic Staff.1a⍵⍴h!1 The Secretariat shall keep a record of all important government development projects, their status and progress as well as all data and statistics relating to each and shall submit recommendations for their expeditious and effective implementation.

The Council is authorized to call upon any department, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality of the government, including government-owned or controlled corporations, for such assistance as it may need in the performance of its functions.
