[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 81, April 20, 1964 ]

EXTENDING THE PROHIBITION TO SLAUGHTER CARABAOS UP TO DECEMBER 31, 1964

In order to carry out effectively the provisions of Republic Act No. 11 and to conserve our work animals for agricultural purposes, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby order:

1. The prohibition to slaughter carabaos under Executive Order No. 29, dated December 28, 1962, is hereby extended up to December 31, 1964.

2. Permits to slaughter carabaos may be issued by the Provincial Commander, subject to the following:

(a) That the carabao is fifteen (15) years old or over;
(b) That the carabao is unfit for work;
(c) That the carabao must be inspected by the Provincial Veterinarian and the Provincial Commander or their authorized representatives; and
(d) That the Provincial Veterinarian and the Provincial Commander shall make a joint certification that the carabao is 15 years old or over and unfit for work.1âшphi1

3. In every case where a permit to slaughter carabao is issued, the Provincial Commander shall furnish the Office of the President copies of the pertinent papers.
