[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 570, February 24, 1953 ]

REPEALING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 183 DATED FEBRUARY 2, 1939, AND EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 74 DATED AUGUST 12, 1947.

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 183, dated February 2, 1939, and Executive Order No. 74, dated August 12, 1947, require that the medical examinations of proposed appointees in the Philippine Civil Service and in corporations owned or controlled by the Government shall be subject to the approval of the Government Service Insurance System; and

WHEREAS, said executive orders are no longer necessary in view of the provisions of section 8(a) of Commonwealth Act No. 186, as amended by Republic Act No. 660, which read as follows:

“An employee whose membership in the System is compulsory shall be automatically insured on the first day of the seventh calendar month following the month he was appointed or on the first day of the sixth calendar month if the date of his appointment is the first day of the month: Provided, That his medical examination, if required, has been approved by the System”.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ELPIDIO QUIRINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby repeal Executive Order No. 183 dated February 2, 1939, and Executive Order No. 74 dated August 12, 1947.1a⍵⍴h!1
