[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 507, June 06, 1952 ]
OPENING BARRIO STA. RITA, MUNICIPALITY OF BATANGAS, INCLUDING THE ADJOINING PORTION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAUAN, AS SUBPORT OF ENTRY.
WHEREAS, the Caltex (Philippines) Inc. is contemplating to construct and operate a petroleum refinery at a site along Batangas Bay approximately midway between the municipalities of Batangas and Bauan in the Province of Batangas;
WHEREAS, the Caltex (Philippines) Inc. has requested the Philippine Government for facilities by opening that portion of the Batangas Bay in the vicinity of which the refinery will be established as a subport of entry open to both foreign and coastwise trade; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of such oil refinery is a step forward in the industrial and economic development of the Philippines and will provide employment for a considerable number of technicians and laborers;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ELPIDIO QUIRINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 1145 of the Revised Administrative Code, and upon recommendation of the Administrator of Economic Coordination and the Commissioner of Customs, concurred in by the Secretary of Finance, do hereby order:
1. The barrio of Sta. Rita, municipality of Batangas, including the adjoining portion of the Municipality of Bauan along the Batangas Bay, is hereby created, opened and established as a subport of entry under Manila as the principal port of entry.
2. This Order shall take effect immediately.
