[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 194, December 29, 1948 ]
AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FORESTRY TO ISSUE TO TOBACCO GROWERS GRATUITOUS LICENSE TO CUT FOREST PRODUCTS EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OR REPAIR OF TOBACCO WAREHOUSES AND CURING SHEDS FOR TWO YEARS.
WHEREAS, the warehouses and curing sheds of the tobacco farmers were destroyed on account of war operations, thus leaving them in dire need of forest products for the rehabilitation and construction thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ELPIDIO QUIRINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, and pursuant to the provisions of the Emergency Powers Law, do hereby authorize the Director of Forestry to issue to any grower of tobacco, within two years from the date hereof, a gratuitous license to cut timber of the first group and other forest products exclusively for the construction of new, or the repair of existing, tobacco warehouses and curing sheds.1a⍵⍴h!1
