[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 96, October 15, 1947 ]
FIXING THE DATE OF ORGANIZATION AND TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF DAGUPAN.
WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 170, approved June 20, 1947, grants to the President of the Philippines authority to fix the date of the organization of the City of Dagupan and to increase its territory by adding thereto such contiguous areas as he may designate; and
WHEREAS, the President has decided that it is necessary and desirable in the public interest to make the municipality of Calasiao, Province of Pangasinan, a part of the City of Dagupan;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MANUEL ROXAS, President of the Philippines, do hereby fix the first of January, nineteen hundred and forty-eight, as the date for the organization of the City of Dagupan and qualification of the City Mayor and Members of the Municipal Board appointed in accordance with section 88 of Republic Act No. 170. Upon the organization of the City of Dagupan, the municipality of Calasiao shall be joined to, and made an integral part of, said City so that its territorial jurisdiction shall comprise those of the present municipalities of Dagupan and Calasiao which shall be abolished as separate and independent municipalities.
