[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 55, July 16, 1945 ]

SUSPENDING THE RUNNING OF THE PERIOD OF ELIGIBILITY FOR REINSTATEMENT IN THE CIVIL SERVICE DURING THE ENEMY OCCUPATION OF THE PHILIPPINES.

By virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws, and upon recommendation of the Bureau of Civil Service, I, SERGIO OSMEŅA, President of the Philippines, do hereby order that the running of the period of eligibility for reinstatement of officers and employees of the Commonwealth Government, whether retired or otherwise separated through no delinquency or misconduct on or before January 2, 1942, the date of enemy occupation of the Philippines, shall be deemed suspended from such date to December 31, 1945, and the person concerned may be reinstated within the unexpired portion of the period of eligibility for reinstatement to which he was originally entitled in accordance with the Civil Service Law and Rules.
