[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 42, May 26, 1945 ]
REVOKING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 385, DATED DECEMBER 17, 1941, AND REVIVING THE PROVISIONS OF COMMONWEALTH ACT NO. 320.
WHEREAS, the provisions of Executive Order No. 385, dated December 17, 1941, transferring from the General Auditing Office to the Budget Commission the function of preparing and keeping the accounts of the various Departments, bureaus, offices, and dependencies of the National Government, including the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the Commission on Elections, and the University of the Philippines, as well as the function of acting upon requisitions for supplies, materials, and equipment, and of operating the Salvage Warehouse, have not actually been carried out;
WHEREAS, it is advisable from the standpoint of economy and efficiency that the accounting and auditing services shall continue to remain under the General Auditing Office as provided in Commonwealth Act No. 320;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, SERGIO OSMEŅA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, do hereby revoke Executive Order No. 385, dated December 17, 1941.
The provisions of Commonwealth Act No. 320 are hereby revived.
