CREATING A COMMITTEE ON RELIEF FOR DESTITUTE FILIPINOS IN THE UNITED STATES AND HAWAII

By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, and in accordance with the unanimous opinion of the War Cabinet, I, MANUEL L. QUEZON,

President of the Philippines, do hereby create and constitute a Committee on Relief for Destitute Filipinos.

The Committee will be constituted by Col. Manuel Nieto, Major Diño and Major Cruz and its duties and functions will be:

1. To study and pass upon all request for financial aid from Filipinos who are destitute.1âшphi1

2. To determine the form and amount of relief that should be given to these persons.

3. To avoid them, through the Office of the Resident Commissioner, in obtaining employment.

This Committee has the authority to call upon any office or employee,  with the approval of the corresponding head or chief, for assistance in order to carry out its functions.

The functions of the Committee under paragraph 1 and 2 will be subject to the supervision and approval of the Auditor General.
