[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 390, December 22, 1941 ]
PRESCRIBING THE ORDER OF PRESIDENTIAL SUCCESSION AND ABOLISHING THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR
Under authority conferred upon me by the Constitution and laws of the Philippines, and more particularly pursuant to the powers vested in me by Commonwealth Act Numbered Six hundred seventy-one, I, MANUEL L. QUEZON, President of the Philippines, do hereby ordain that the order of precedence and/or succession to the Presidency of the Philippines in case of failure to qualify, removal, termination of the right thereto, death, resignation, or inability to discharge the powers and duties of the office by both the President or President-elect and the Vice President or Vice President-elect, as the case may be, shall, for the purposes of sections 6 and 8 of Art. VII of the Constitution, as amended, be as follows:

The Department of the Interior is hereby abolished and all its bureaus and offices and their powers, functions, duties, records, documents, furniture, office equipment, and property shall be distributed as provided in Commonwealth Act Numbered Six hundred sixty, effective January 1, 1942.
Commonwealth Act Numbered Sixty-eight is hereby declared inoperative.1âшphi1
