[ Executive Order No. 196, March 24, 1939 ]

FIXING OFFICE HOURS ON SATURDAYS AND DURING THE HOT SEASON

Pursuant to the provisions of section five hundred and sixty-four of the Revised Administrative Code, the office hours of all Government Bureaus and offices, including the provincial and municipal governments and the Cities of Manila, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Davao, and Zamboanga, during the period from April first to June fifteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-nine, both dates inclusive, are hereby reduced to five and one-half continuous hours which shall be from seven-thirty a. m. to one p. m. All offices in the City of Baguio, whether national, provincial, or municipal, are exempted from the provisions of this Executive Order. This Order does not oblige the Head of any Department, Bureau, or office so to reduce the hours of labor in his branch of work, but leaves the same in his discretion subject to the requirements of the service.
