[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 48, July 20, 1936 ]
FIXING QUARTERS ALLOWANCE FOR GENERAL OFFICERS OF THE HIGH COMMAND OF THE ARMY OF THE PHILIPPINES
WHEREAS section ninety of the National Defense Act provides that the annual rates of pay and allowances for officers of the Regular Force and those of the Reserve ordered to extended tours of active duty, except probationary third lieutenants, shall be as prescribed by the President in executive orders;
WHEREAS pending the issuance of appropriate executive orders, the rates of pay and allowances now prescribed for officers of the Constabulary shall apply to officers of the Army of the Philippines under said section ninety; and
WHEREAS upon assumption of the officers of the High Command of the Army of the Philippines, it becomes necessary to provide them with rates of allowances that are commensurate with their rank;
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority conferred upon me by the provisions of law above cited, the quarters allowance for—
(a) The Chief of Staff of the Army of the Philippines shall be fixed at two hundred pesos a month;1âшphi1
(b) Major Generals shall be fixed at one hundred seventy-five pesos a month; and
(c) Brigadier Generals shall be fixed at one hundred fifty pesos a month.
