[ ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 258, March 16, 2009 ]

CREATING AN INDEPENDENT INTER-AGENCY TASK FORCE TO INVESTIGATE THE CASES OF THE LEGACY GROUP

Section 1. There is hereby created an independent inter-agency Task Force to investigate the cases of the Legacy group.

Section 2. The Task Force shall be headed by a representative of the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission as Chair, with representatives of the following agencies as members:

Securities and Exchange Commission

Bureau of Internal Revenue

Department of Justice

Department of Labor and Employment

Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board.

Section 3. Representatives from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Bankers Association of the Philippines, Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), and a civic organization to be identified by the President of the Philippines shall be invited to participate in the investigation.

Section 4. The Task Force shall have sufficient and full power to conduct an in-depth investigation surrounding the Legacy P30 billion cases and the people responsible therefore. The period of investigation shall be for six months, the results of which shall be given to the Office of the President of the Philippines, with copies simultaneously furnished the Office of the CBCP, the United Council of Churches of the Philippines, the Iglesia ni Cristo, the Islamic D’awah Council of the Philippines, the National Press Club and the Monetary Board.ℒαwρhi৷

Section 5. This Order shall take effect immediately.
