[ ADMNISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 96, July 26, 1949 ]
AMENDING THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 60, DATED JUNE 19, 1948, ENTITLED “CREATING THE SUGAR REHABILITATION AND READJUSTMENT COMMISSION”
By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, do hereby amend the first paragraph of Administrative Order No. 60, dated June 19, 1948, to read as follows:
“For the purpose of advising the President on the problems affecting the rehabilitation of the sugar industry and readjusting it to the conditions vitally affecting its existence after the expiration of the duty-free period of eight years provided for in the Executive Agreement of July 4, 1046, between the Philippines and the United States, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby create a Sugar Rehabilitation and Readjustment Commission composed of such members as the President may appoint from time to time. The members of the Commission who are not officers or employees of the Government shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed by the President.”
