CONSTITUTING AN ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE AND APPOINTING THE MEMBERS THEREOF TO FORMULATE PLANS AND DEVISE WAYS AND MEANS FOR THE APPROPRIATE CELEBRATION OF NOVEMBER FIFTEENTH
WHEREAS, on the fifteenth of November, nineteen hundred and thirty-five, the Commonwealth of the Philippines was proclaimed and inaugurated;
WHEREAS, this date becomes an important milestone in the history of our political progress and is the last step in our advance toward national independence; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the importance of this event be brought to the serious attention of our people and of the youth of the land especially;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MANUEL L. QUEZON, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers upon me vested by law, do hereby constitute and appoint the following Anniversary Committee to be composed of Hon. Elpidio Quirino as Chairman, Hon. Claudio Sandoval, Major General Basilio Valdes, Hon. Faustino Aguilar, Hon. Juan Posadas, Dr. Jorge Bocobo, Dr. Gabriel Maņalac, Mr. Juan Ruiz, Mr. Lino Castillejo, Mr. Arsenio Luz, Mr. Vicente Madrigal, Mrs. Pilar Hidalgo de Lim, Mr. Pedro Aunario, Dr. Carlos P. Romulo, and Dr. Victor Buencamino as members to arrange for the most appropriate way of celebrating the occasion.1âшphi1
