RESOLUTION No. 6560

IN THE MATTER OF AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6420, "THE CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES AND PERIODS ON PROHIBITED ACTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 10, 2004 NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS"

Promulgated: 17 January 2004

WHEREAS, the Commission is now reverting to the manual system of election and there is a need to amend certain timelines in the calendar of activities;

WHEREAS, under Republic Act No. 8189, the period of filing petition for inclusion is at anytime except one hundred five (105) days prior to a regular election while the filing of petition for exclusion is at anytime except one hundred days prior to a regular election;|avvphi1.nêt

NOW THEREFORE, the Commission on Elections, pursuant to the powers vested in it by the Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code (B.P. Blg. No. 881), and other election laws, the Commission RESOLVES to promulgate as it hereby RESOLVES to amend the period for filing of petitions for inclusion and exclusion cases:

January 26, 2004 Last day to file petition for inclusion of qualified voters in the List with the proper Municipal or Metropolitan Trial Courts to those whose applications for registration have been disapproved or whose names have been stricken out from the list by the Election Registration Board.|avvphïl.nêt
January 31, 2004 Filing of petitions of exclusion of non-qualified voters.

Effectivity. This resolution shall take effect after seven days from its publication in two (2) daily newspapers of general circulation in the Philippines.

Dissemination. The Education and Information Department shall cause the publication of this resolution in two (2) daily newspapers of general circulation and give the same the widest dissemination possible. The Executive Director shall furnish copies of this resolution to the Secretary of Department of National Defense, the department of the Interior and Local Government, the Department of Justice, the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Director-General of the Philippine National Police and the Director of the National Bureau of Investigation.
