REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10124

AN ACT CHANGING THE NOMENCLATURE OF THE TONDO CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT LIBRARY IN TAYUMAN, TONDO, MANILA INTO SENTRO NG KARUNUNGAN LIBRARY, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. Renaming of the Tondo Congressional District Library. - The name of Tondo Congressional District Library in Tayuman, Tondo, Manila is hereby changed, to Sentro ng Karunungan Library.

Section 2. Appointment of Personnel. - The Director of the National Library shall appoint such personnel as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act: Provided, however, That all appointments shall be in accordance with the civil service rules and regulations.

Section 3. Appropriations. - The amount necessary for the operation of the Sentro ng Karunungan Library shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Tondo Congressional District Library under the budget of the National Library. Thereafter, such amount necessary for its continued operation which shall not be less than Five million pesos (P5,000,000.00) shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act,

Section 4. Implementation. - The Director of the National Library shall issue rules and regulations that may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act.

Section 5. Effectivity. - This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
