REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10087
AN ACT AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3873, ENTITLED AN ACT CHANGING THE NAME OF THE BUREAU OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES TO THE NATIONAL LIBRARY
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. The title of Republic Act No. 3873 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"An Act Changing the Name of the Bureau of Public Libraries to the National Library of the Philippines".
Section 2. Section 1 of Republic Act No. 3873 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 1. The name of the Bureau of Public Libraries is hereby changed to that of The National Library of the Philippines."
Section 3. Section 2 of Republic Act No. 3873 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 2. All references to the Bureau of Public Libraries in laws, executive orders, rules and regulations shall henceforth be understood to refer to The National Library of the Philippines."
Section 4. Any law, presidential decree, issuance, executive order, letter of instruction, administrative order, rule and regulation contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this Act is hereby repealed, modified or amended accordingly.
Section 5. This Act shall take effect ten (10) days following its complete publication in any newspaper of general circulation.

This Act which is a consolidation of Senate Bill No. 1152 and House Bill No. 199 was finally passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives on January 26, 2010 and February 3, 2010, respectively.
