REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9198 March 24, 2003

AN ACT DECLARING MARCH TWENTY-FIVE OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL NONWORKING HOLIDAY IN THE CITY OF CANDON, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS SUR, AS THE "CRY OF CANDON"

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. March 25 commemorates the "Cry of Candon" in the City of Candon, Province of Ilocos Sur, when local heroes led by Don Isabelo Abaya declared the Republica de Filipinas Katipunan de Candon.

Section 2. In honor of the men and women who sacrificed their lives for freedom, March 25 of every year is hereby declared a special nonworking holiday in the City of Candon.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon approval.
