AN ACT CONVERTING THE PAYON BUGAN PILOT OPPORTUNITY SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE, IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LAMUT, PROVINCE OF IFUGAO, INTO A COLLEGE, TO BE KNOWN AS IFUGAO AGRICULTURAL AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Payon Bugan Pilot Opportunity School of Agriculture located in the Municipality of Lamut, Province of Ifugao, is hereby converted into a college to be known as Ifugao Agricultural and Technical College.

Section 2. The Ifugao Agricultural and Technical College shall offer, in addition to the secondary agricultural curriculum and its other present curriculum, any or all of the following courses and the like, at the discretion of the Director of the Bureau of Vocational Education:

a. Two-year technical agricultural course leading to the title of Associate in Agriculture;

b. Four-year technical agricultural course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture;

c. Four-year teacher education course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education;and

d. Such appropriate courses leading to development of technical and industrial skills.1âшphi1

Section 3. The Ifugao Agricultural and Technical College shall be headed by a Superintendent of Agricultural and Technical Instruction and shall be under the Bureau of Vocational Education.

Section 4. The physical and financial assets, liabilities, personnel, equipment, and records of the Payon Bugan Pilot Opportunity School of Agriculture stand transferred to the Ifugao Agricultural and Technical College: Provided, That the Ifugao Agricultural and Technical College is hereby authorized to enter into any agreement to receive any endowment, assistance or support from any person, group or, international agency for the support of its operations.

Section 5. The sum of five hundred fifty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated for the operation and maintenance of the said college, in addition to the present national appropriation of the said school for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and seventy.  Thereafter, the necessary sum for said purposes shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
