[ Proclamation No. 1910, October 11, 1979 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1979, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN ZAMBOANGA CITY.

WHEREAS, both Christians and Muslims alike in Zamboanga City celebrate, with fitting ceremonies, the traditional feast of Our Lady of Pilar, the patron saint of said city, which falls on Friday, October 12, 1979; and

WHEREAS, to afford full opportunity to the people thereat to celebrate properly the feast of Our Lady of Pilar, it is but proper that the same be declared as a special public holiday in said city;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, October 12, 1979, as a special public holiday in Zamboanga City, but it shall be a regular working and school day.
