DECLARING A PERIOD OF NATIONAL MOURNING OVER THE DEATH OF SENATOR CLARO M. RECTO
WHEREAS, Senator Claro M. Recto, former President of the Constitutional Convention, patriot, nationalist, statesman, jurist, constitutionalist, and man of letters, died in Rome, Italy, on October 2, 1960; and
WHEREAS, his death is a great loss to our people and has caused deep sorrow among them;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim the period from the day of the arrival of his remains to the day of Iris burial as a period of national mourning. During this period, flags of all government buildings and installations throughout the Philippines shall be flown at half-mast.1aшphi1
