DECLARING WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 1959, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF ILOILO, CAPIZ, AKLAN, AND ANTIQUE AND IN THE CITIES OF ILOILO AND ROXAS
WHEREAS, the fourteenth anniversary of the liberation of the Island of Panay from the Imperial Japanese Forces falls on March 18, 1959;
WHEREAS, the people of the Island of Panay desire that they be given full opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CARLOS P. GARCIA, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Wednesday, March 18, 1959, as a special public holiday in the provinces of Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, and Antique and in the cities of Iloilo and Roxas,
