Proclamation No. 252

CALLING THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO A SPECIAL SESSION

WHEREAS, the general appropriation bill for 1951-1952 failed of enactment in the last regular session of the Congress; and

WHEREAS, the public interest requires that the Congress be convened in special session in order to consider the general appropriation bill for 1951-1952;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in .me by the Constitution, do hereby call the Congress of the Philippines to a special session for a period of ten days commencing at ten o’clock in the morning of the 18th day of May, 1951, for the purpose of considering the general appropriation bill for 1951-1952.

All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this proclamation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 17th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the fifth.
